The power of Numbers: One Big Switch

Set up first in Australia, www. OneBigSwitch.ie is a Consumer Network that unlocks group discounts from energy suppliers for it’s members. Irish Entrepreneur Oliver Tattan is responsible for the launch of the campaign here in Ireland and has now signed up over 44,000 members. Today, on Sean O’Rourke’s RTE Radio 1 show, he announced that Bord Gais has offered a 10% discount to members with €80 cash back and 5% discount in year 2. To members who are existing Bord Gais customers there will be a 5% discount and €40 cash back.

When I lived in London I was a great advocate of switching. Every time a contract came up for renewal I would automatically research the best options available. I did this across the board for mobile and phone providers, car insurance, health and energy suppliers. I’m not sure if it has anything to do with Fluoride in the water or just the general pace of life back here on the old sod but I have become complacent, downright lazy even. The launch of http://www.onebigswitch.ie in February of this year was a slap across the chops for me and made me realize just how much control I had let slip from my hands. Now that the offer from Bord Gais has gone ‘live’ the next hurdle has to be Health Insurance. Who’s with me?bulb

  1. Hey! Quick question that’s completely off topic. Do
you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My weblog looks weird when browsing from my iphone.

I’m trying to find a theme or plugin that might be able to resolve this problem.
If you have any recommendations, please share. Thank you!
